I learned from people more successful than me, adopted their habits, and slowly built the career and life I wanted.

I realized I wanted to become a REALTOR® when I was working in the mortgage industry and saw how much happened beyond the loan itself. Clients were making some of the biggest decisions of their lives, and I wanted to understand and eventually guide the entire process of buying and selling real estate. I wanted more than a job; I wanted a career I could feel passionate about, and real estate was clearly the path.

My path to real estate, though, had a rocky beginning. I grew up in Orange County, and during high school, I got mixed up with the wrong crowd. I used drugs and alcohol, partly to cope with what I now understand was untreated ADD, and I was drifting without much direction.
My uncle brought me a Bible, and out of boredom, I began attending church services. When people were invited to accept Christ, I thought, What do I have to lose? I prayed, and my entire body tingled. I can’t explain the experience, but I’ve never been able to deny it. I became a Christian, got sober, and decided to rebuild my life.

I attended community college and earned an associate degree in mathematics. I was preparing to transfer to UC Irvine or Cal Poly Pomona to study engineering when life changed again. My first child was born, and suddenly I was trying to balance school, a new baby, and a full-time job. I had to choose, so I left college and focused on earning a living.
In 2003, my aunt told me about an opening as an underwriting assistant at a mortgage company. The pay was only about $2,000 a month, but it was my first step into the real estate and mortgage industry. I pulled credit reports, entered data, and learned the business from the ground up. Soon, I moved into wholesale mortgage sales as an account executive, earned my real estate license, and began taking on real estate transactions.

My goals became bigger, but so did the challenges. My marriage ended during the 2008 recession, and the paperwork took time to complete. I was suddenly facing child support, financial pressure, and majority custody of my children while trying to keep my career alive. I went through a dark period and briefly returned to partying, but eventually I found my footing and returned to Christ. I learned that I had to regulate my emotions, stop engaging in drama, and take responsibility for maintaining my peace.
Professionally, I kept moving forward. I learned from people more successful than me, adopted their habits, and grew from loan officer to branch manager. In 2022, I started my own mortgage lending company, and in early 2025, I opened my own real estate brokerage. The experience I bring to clients as both a mortgage and real estate expert is priceless.

Outside of work, I feel most like myself outdoors. Snowboarding is my favorite hobby, which is why I bought a home in Lake Tahoe. I also enjoy boating, jet skiing, hiking, camping, and music. I’m hoping to volunteer with an organization that helps people facing homelessness or addiction, and I’d like to start a nonprofit of my own someday.
My life has included mistakes, loss, reinvention, and second chances. I still carry my past with me, but it no longer defines me. It reminds me that even after losing your direction, you can choose to begin again and keep climbing.
I bring more than 20 years of experience in real estate and over 23 years in the mortgage industry. What sets me apart is my work ethic. I am persistent, highly driven, and willing to outwork anyone. I also anti-procrastinate: if something needs to be done in three weeks, I do it today. That mindset helps me stay organized, responsive, and focused on moving each transaction forward.
I am also committed to learning. Even with extensive experience in mortgage and real estate, I know I can’t know everything. I stay humble, admit when I’m wrong, and remain open to new ideas and better strategies.
Clients often tell me they appreciate that I don’t pressure them. I speak to them like a friend, explain complicated information in plain English, and make the process feel easy.
Because I own both a mortgage company and a real estate brokerage, I can provide a coordinated experience. I help clients secure competitive financing, reduce closing costs, or achieve a better overall financial outcome.
Sincerely,
Ryan Eldred
